Left-arm pacer Richard Ngarava has been named in Zimbabwe's T20I squad for the upcoming home tri-series against South Africa and New Zealand, marking his return from a lower-back injury that had sidelined him for recent fixtures. The tri-series is scheduled to run from July 14 to 26 at the Harare Sports Club.
Zimbabwe have also added fresh talent to their 16-member squad, with three uncapped players receiving call-ups: wicketkeeper-batter Tafadzwa Tsiga, left-arm seamer Newman Nyamhuri, and legspinner Vincent Masekesa. While Tsiga and Masekesa have featured in Zimbabwe’s Test setup before, 19-year-old Nyamhuri already has three Tests and four ODIs to his name.
Allrounder Brian Bennett has also been declared fit and returns to the squad after recovering from a concussion sustained during the recent Test series against South Africa.
Zimbabwe will open their tri-series campaign against South Africa on July 14, followed by matches against New Zealand on July 18, a second fixture against South Africa on July 20, and a final round-robin match against New Zealand on July 24. The top two teams will meet in the final on July 26. All matches are set to begin at 1:00 PM local time.
